LexMedia Streaming Live on the Internet ![]() May 5, 2009: As we started planning on how to record Amanda Palmer’s collaboration with Lexington High School students on the Spring Musical, Chrissy Barthelette our hip, new young staff member said, “Why not stream Saturday night’s performance over the Internet?” Fred Rothmel chimed in that he had discovered the wonders of USTREAM, a free content streaming site on the web, and I (Harry Forsdick), playing my curmudgeonly role, threw cold water on the idea saying “Who needs this?”. Boy, was I wrong! Boy was Chrissy right. And boy, is Fred my hero. Within 12 hours of that meeting, we had most of the pieces for the live streaming on the Internet of Saturday night’s 7:30pm performance of “With the Needle That Sings in Her Heart” in place. Just as important is the fact that this has shown us how to stream all of our three channels all of the time over the Internet: LexMedia live 24×7 on the Internet. Wow, this is something we have dreamed of for several years and the capabilities were sitting available for free to us. So, stay tuned for the inauguration this summer of LexMedia Live on the Internet. This increases the ways our content is distributed to Lexington (and the World):
