Our kids class this summer was a great success. Students began their week by learning how to use the equipment. After being trained, students learned the ins and outs of movie making through recreating scenes from Harry Potter. We focused on the magic of movie making; since none of our staff are wizards, we used fishing wire and a stool to create special effects. We also used a green screen to mimic the Hogwarts classroom, complete with magic spell fail.
After imitating Harry Potter, students came up with ideas for their own scenes which they then filmed and edited. Their parents were invited to the Media Center on Friday to watch the end result of the students’ hard work, which you can watch below.
We loved having so many enthusiastic and inquisitive students with us! We’re looking forward to having another round of students join us later this school year; make sure you hear about our next class by signing up for our newsletter.
