Dinesh G. Patel M.D. has been resident of Lexington for 49 years and been Precinct 6 town member. Three of his children went to Lexington schools.
Retired after 56 years, Patel was Emeritus Chief of Arthroscopic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. At Harvard Medical School he was involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and ortho residents. He was member of Harvard Medical School admission committee. He was Chairman of the Board of Registration of Medicine in Massachusetts, and also served on the Board of Catastrophe Illness in Children Relief Fund in Massachusetts.
His contributions in Arthroscopic surgery globally has resulted in many awards in USA and overseas, including Paul Harris Rotary International Award. Patel also received an Appreciation Award from American Jewish Congress for enabling refugee physicians to have an opportunity to continue their professional lives in the United States.
